In the film Thelma and Louise we see two women who are tired of living the life they are living. They want to go away on a trip to the mountains. We see that Thelma is more of the famine character and Louise is more of the man in there duo. When Thelma first picks up the gun she is almost scared to touch it but as the film goes on she start to change. She turns into this male figure. She is the one that made the cop whimper like a little girl which also shows how quickly the gender roles change.

Feminist view on Bonnie and Clyde and Thelma and Louise
In the films Bonnie and Clyde and Thelma and Louise we see that they are both portraying dynamic duos but in one of them they are both females. Both films defy the typical characteristics of gender roles in society. The show how quickly a women can change into a man. Also we see how characters react to the sweet taste of freedom. Also how that ends for them.
We see in Bonnie and Clyde they are living this life full of sex, guns and crime. Bonnie started out as this girl using her sexuality to almost take control of Clyde's mind (left). In the opening scene, we see that Bonnie caught Clyde in the middle of robbing a car. She stands by the window naked, using her sexuality to use Clyde to get her out of the life she is living. She was the one that wanted the sex, showing the change in gender roles as Bonnie becomes more of the male in there relationship. In this scene (right) we see that Bonnie has the cigar and gun in her hand and she is standing in a very manly way. She is breaking away form that very famine character.

We see the mise-en-scene in The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari and Edward Scissorhands is very dark and eerie. In The Cabinet of Dr.Caligrai we start out in this garden which shows that even in a garden there isn't really anything happy and then we see this town which has really rough and point edges to it. There wasn't a since of order while in Edward ScissorHands the town was in order but not Edward's house on top of the mountain. In the pictures at the top we see the town in Caligari is very similar to Edward's house. We see that in both pictures the mountains have this lonesome left almost like there is something missing.

.
Here we see the main characters. They are both grated into this society then begin to be push away. Edward is bung into this whole new world that he has never seen. He has lived a lone all is life. Caesar on the other hand has been asleep all his life and doesn't know what this world he is living in is really like. He has no control of the things he does because he is a somnambulist. In away Edward also has no control because his hands are what a standing in the way of his life. People may have been amazed be both of these characters but they knew that on the inside they were very scared of something different. In today's society we see the same thing. We say that we accept new things but we end up pushing "different" away
In Edward Scissorhands and The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari we see that there is a similar look to them. Even though Caligrai has more of a dark almost wary feel to it and Edward Scissorhands is more friendly in away there are a lot of things that both movies have. The setting is a very good example of this. The outfits that the main characters have a similar too, very dark and not something that you would see everyday. Both films have this idea of society that are very closely related to the ideas that exist now and days which shows us that humans try to embrace something that they know doesn't belong in there worlds and try to make it fit in.
